Volunteer Requirements

>| The Shift Forward: Hockey Canada has introduced a new educational program called The Shift Forward.

All volunteers registered with Hockey New-Brunswick (HNB) are required to take the The Shift Forward course, which include the roles listed below.

- Head Coach
- Assistant Coach
- On-Ice Helper
- Manager
- Safety Person

*For those that were previously certified with Respect in Sport (RIS) for Activity Leader, you are not required to take The Shift Forward course at this time.

>| CRC & VSC: All volunteers aged 18 and older are required to undergo a Criminal Record Check (CRC) and a Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC), which remain valid for three years. Below is a letter to present to your local RCMP detachment. The results can be emailed to the association's registrar: [email protected]

    Team Manager Resources

>| Inclement Weather Protocol for Scheduled Games:
- If the Shediac or Cap-Pelé arena closes due to inclement weather or a power outage, the association will notify the affected home teams.
- If the Shediac or Cap-Pelé arena remains open, it is the coach's decision whether to proceed with the scheduled ice time.
* If a scheduled game is being cancelled, you must notify the visiting team, the Ref-in-Chief and Ice Scheduler directly.
